The privacy of your personal information is of paramount importance to Yarra Valley Water.
We are committed to respecting your right to privacy and to the protection of your personal information in accordance with the National Privacy Principles as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
If you confirm your registration and agree to our terms and conditions through the WaterCare Hub website, you are automatically opting in to receive electronic communications from the WaterCare Hub and Yarra Valley Water. If you wish to stop receiving these communications you will need to contact the Hub administrators and send through an opt out email notification.
Collecting your personal information
If you are enquiring about or have acquired a service from WaterCare or Yarra Valley Water, will collect and hold your personal information for the purposes of providing you with information about our services and, if relevant, providing you with the service or services (including identifying you).
Yarra Valley Water may also collect your personal information for the purpose of letting you know about the services of additional WaterCare or Yarra Valley Water products and services.
The information collected may include your name, postal or email address or other information Yarra Valley Water considers necessary.
We will, if it is reasonable or practicable to do so, collect your personal information from you. This may happen when you give us personal information over the telephone or in person, or through the WaterCare website.
In certain cases we collect your personal information from third parties. For example, we may need to collect personal information from your representative (such as a legal adviser), your financial adviser, or from publicly available sources of information.

Yarra Valley Water will ensure that any information collected from you is held, used or disclosed consistently with the National Privacy Principles and other applicable privacy laws and codes.

Yarra Valley Water aims to make sure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date. We will take reasonable steps to ensure this is the case.

Yarra Valley Water takes reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse and loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Our staff are required to comply with confidentiality requirements. We also have in place document storage security policies and security measures for systems access.
